Who we are

This site belongs to Chicago Urban Honor Syndicate, a nonprofit in Chicago, Illinois. A 501(c)(3) public charity. A separate for-profit company, Chicago Unified Holdings & Systems, operates at chicagouhs.com. Work described there is not work of this organization. Its own terms are on chicagouhs.com.

What this site offers

Information about our programs and events, a coat drive, a needs survey, a list of jobs and opportunities, and Community voice (petitions, votes and ideas). Some of these need an account.

Your account

• You must be 18 or older. You can't create an account without confirming it.
• One account is for one person. Members of a household may share a phone or an email.
• Keep your password to yourself. If you think someone else knows it, write to us.
• Give your own details, and an address only if it is where you live.

How we handle what you give us is in our privacy notice.

Reserving a coat

You can reserve one coat for yourself and one for each child on your profile, for each coat drive. Pick up within the first 30 minutes of the event, or the coat may go to someone else in need. Cancelling gives the coat back at once.

Community voice

Voting is for neighbors whose North Lawndale address we have confirmed, one vote per account. Don't vote, sign or take part using someone else's account.

Donations

Donations are coming soon, after state charity registration. Illinois asks a charity to register with the Attorney General before it asks the public for gifts, and we are doing that first. Until then this site does not ask for money.
